Every “best WooCommerce email plugins” roundup has the same problem.
Omnisend writes one and puts themselves at #1. FluentCRM publishes a “best tools” post and leads with FluentCRM. Klaviyo recommends Klaviyo. It’s turtles all the way down.
LiftRevHQ is on this list. We’ll tell you exactly what it does well and where it falls short — and we’ll do the same for every other tool. By the end, you’ll know which one fits your store. Even if it’s not ours.
What we actually looked at
Five things:
- WooCommerce integration depth — native connection to store data, or importing a copy of it?
- Lifecycle automation — can it trigger emails based on real purchase behavior?
- Customer segmentation — can you segment by purchase history, frequency, value?
- Pricing model — does it punish you for growing your list?
- Complexity — how long does it take a solo store owner to get something running?
The tools
LiftRevHQ
Best for: Store owners who want WooCommerce-native lifecycle automation without the SaaS price tag
LiftRevHQ lives inside your WordPress install. It connects directly to your store data — no imports, no syncing — and triggers emails based on real purchase events: cart abandonment, first purchase, nth purchase, days since last order, product category purchased, total lifetime value.
The thing that sets it apart is customer scoring that accounts for your store’s purchase patterns, not a one-size-fits-all formula.
What it does well: WooCommerce-native, store-aware customer scoring, flat pricing
What it doesn’t do: SMS, large template library, multi-platform integrations
Pricing: Flat annual fee — no per-contact charges
Best fit: WooCommerce stores where lifecycle email is the primary focus and list growth shouldn’t mean a bigger monthly bill
Klaviyo
Best for: High-volume stores ($1M+/year) with marketing teams and budget to match
Klaviyo is genuinely excellent at the high end. Best-in-class analytics, strong automation templates, SMS and email unified, predictive lifetime value modeling. The catch: it was built for Shopify first. And the per-contact pricing gets steep fast — 10,000 contacts runs around $150/month before SMS.
What it does well: Analytics, automation templates, SMS, brand recognition
Pricing: Per-contact; free under 250 contacts, then scales steeply
Best fit: High-volume stores with budget and a team to use the full feature set
Omnisend
Best for: Stores that want multichannel (email + SMS + push) with a free entry point
Omnisend is consistently the highest-rated WooCommerce email plugin on third-party review sites. Strong native integration, solid pre-built automations, and a free tier that actually covers most small store needs.
What it does well: Multichannel, free tier, pre-built templates, good WooCommerce integration
Pricing: Free up to 250 contacts; paid plans from $16/month
Best fit: Newer stores who want to start free and have the option to add SMS later
FluentCRM
Best for: WordPress-heavy businesses that need CRM features alongside email
FluentCRM is a WordPress CRM plugin that does email automation — not an email automation plugin that does CRM. Excellent if you run courses, memberships, or services alongside your WooCommerce store. If WooCommerce is your only revenue driver, you’ll hit the ceiling.
What it does well: Flat pricing, WordPress-native, full CRM features, deep WordPress ecosystem integrations
Pricing: ~$129/year; lifetime license available
Best fit: Multi-purpose WordPress businesses where WooCommerce is one of several revenue streams
MailPoet
Best for: Small stores just getting started who want something free and simple
MailPoet lives inside WordPress, syncs with WooCommerce, and has a clean editor. It’s the least intimidating option on this list — and it’s free up to 1,000 subscribers. Most stores will outgrow it, but it’s a fine place to start.
Pricing: Free up to 1,000 subscribers; paid plans from ~$13/month
Best fit: Brand new stores who need something simple and free right now
Drip
Best for: Stores that have outgrown simpler tools and don’t want to pay Klaviyo prices
Strong segmentation and behavioral triggers. A legitimate option for mid-size stores — but the learning curve is real and it starts at $39/month.
Pricing: From $39/month
Best fit: Mid-size stores that need more than Omnisend but aren’t ready for Klaviyo

The question nobody asks — but probably should
What happens to your data when you leave?
With SaaS tools — Klaviyo, Omnisend, Drip — your customer data lives on their servers. Switch tools and you export a CSV. Your segmentation rules, automation history, and behavioral data don’t come with you.
With WordPress-native tools — LiftRevHQ, FluentCRM, MailPoet — your data stays in your own database. Your WooCommerce customer history is yours, regardless of which email tool you’re using.
For most stores this is an abstract concern right now. But if you’re thinking about the long-term portability of your customer data, it’s worth factoring in before you’re three years deep into a platform.
LiftRevHQ is on this list. We think it’s the right choice for most WooCommerce stores — but we also know the right tool is the one you’ll actually use. See how LiftRevHQ works →
